Inspirare

Design Story

Bella dress was inspired by my obsession with architecture. During my travels around the world, I was always fascinated by the structures of the various cities I've visited. Architecture is really an anthropological reflection, structures that help gives us a better understanding of the culture and their people. In my musings, I was most intrigued in Barcelona by the magnificent influence that Antoni Gaudi had on this city. Most building structures use rectilinear lines but Gaudi used natural lines, lines of the human body, curves to produce jaw-dropping skyscrapers as La Segrada Familia. And hence became the theme of my FW12 collection, arches. Arch cutouts seen in the back of the dresses and coats.

This bella (beautiful) dress was made for me. Not really.. but it's perfect scalloped neckline, backless cut and pleated skirt made me think so. It must be rare to see me in a dress recently since I've been obsessed with leather skirts and printed t-shirts. For real! You might not be able to see it in this blog.. but I wore that look all the time when I was in the Philippines. See Valerie's blog!

Me and my topsy turvy hair! I've been trying hard to make my hair a little bit more presentable, prettier for all the people I've been wanting to meet but one thing I've realized in my latest trip,  me + pretty hair + Philippines might never work. First, I am too lazy. Pretty seems to ideal. It's too hot in the Philippines! I was always indoors, didn't even had the time to go to the beach and rarely commuted when I was there so I don't have the right to complain but 5 minutes outside the roof of the mall means I have to deal with sweating and mosquito bites.

I'm sorry for almost abandoning this blog yet again, life happened. I've been in a three weeks vacation and I still am.. My itinerary was packed, I went back to the Philippines last December 14-17 to attend Bloggers United 4, went to Hong Kong for a week (December 18-25) to spend Christmas with my family, and the rest of the holidays in Makati and Cavite. Now, I'm back! In Japan, which I just realized, my true home. This recent trip was the longest I've ever had and it made me think about life more than before. What I want, what I do not want, what I like about other people's lives, and what I detested. For most of the time, I feel I don't belong but thanks to my true friends, my boyfriend's family and people I just met but I can't get enough of, who made my stay feels just like "home."  I'll tell you more about that later.. For now, enjoy your day and..

あけましておめでとうございます!
